New Baby Rhodes

My oldest daughter Sarah had baby number four at 2:10pm this afternoon. She is 20.5 inches long and 8lbs, 5 ozs. Sarah had a c-section.

Hilary and I arrived at the hospital about 9 this morning. Her mother had spent the long night with her and had went home to rest.

The baby is so pretty.

Abby and Hiram played in the Milton middle school and Barboursville middle school orchestra spring concert last night. I have posted video on YouTube @ http://www.youtube.com/user/weible007r.

Abby is the cello solo. I really couldn't get Hiram on video well, because he was behind the guitar player just to left of the piano. He was seated as number one number one violin, but he said there really was a number one. And Abby was seated as number one cello.

It is amazing how far they have come in learning to play these difficult instruments. I think it has given them some self-control and discipline that will help them for the rest of their lives. Well, that is certainly my hopes.

Ben came home yesterday to live with his mother, again. I have not talked one yet, but I hope these experiences have made a big difference for the better in his life.

Jesus gave the parable of the laborers in the vineyard,

I was thinking about the parable Jesus gave of the laborers in the vineyard, Matt. 20: 1-16. Those who were hired in the 11th hour received the same wage as those who worked all 12. I have always interpreted this parable to mean those who find the gospel in there old age received the same blessings as those who embraced it in their youth. Those who embrace the gospel in their old age do not have to endure as long to reach the end. We all must endure to the end. Is it fair that those who have endured so long received the same rewards as those who do not. Is it hard to endure? Some days it is very hard. Other days pretty easy.

But in reality those who embrace the gospel in their youth receive countless blessing the others do not. So there are rewards. The gospel gives guidance to your life that brings happiness. Guidance to miss many of the pitfalls of live. I have missed lots of heartaches, bad decisions, guilt, and disappointment. Obeying gospel commandments has given me direction on how to live. I am so grateful for the peace I have in live.

Look ma no hair

I have reverted back to my no hair look. Since I have so little anyway and what I have is all white. Hair maintenance is low on my list of things to do.
